Here's some animals

Hello there! So I have a fun one for you today:
Try to guess what these drawings have in common!

A flamingo.

A dachshund.

A pomeranian.

A frog.

A giraffe.

A guinea pig.

A macaque.

And an owl.

I'll give you a clue with this little sparrow. Take a look.

Eh? Did you notice it yet? Take a look at this  parrot.

And this rooster.

You've seen it too eh? :) In my series of daily portraits I've been drawing myself as animals! I say drawing myself, I just put glasses and a wig on them and sometimes clothes.

Also, just for kicks and giggles, I've decided to color all my drawing from here onwards. While I enjoy drawing myself as much as the next artist, I have to say I do like drawing these guys. They make for some nice variety after having drawn my own face for so long.

A drawing a Day. (almost)

During the last year I've tried to make a drawing a day during the weekdays. Here is a small sample of them.

I try to draw myself purposely with different looks depending of what I am wearing that day and how long my hair is. I also alternate between slightly realistic and cartoony styles.

I like this one in a strange way, in reality it was an exercise on clothing as well as halftones, but it ended up looking awfully dramatic. Maybe a bit too dramatic.

Still, kind of nice.

D&D inspired illustration

 Shield Break

These were all done in Photoshop. Please click on the images to see more detail. :)

Lineart and colors in Rebelle 2

Rebelle 2 is a painting program that simulates paint and watercolor including water flow, tilt, water and paint bleed and more.

Unlike photoshop a lot of the mixing in the program simulates the true behaviour of paint on a Canvas. It is quite impressive and powerful. Watercolor painting is especially impressive.

Here are some of my drawings painted.

Unreleased music video concept art.

Design work for a music video that I worked on. I worked on all design and animation work by myself.

While the video is finished as far as I know, it remains unreleased.

Some animation tests testing software.

Some really rough animation tests, flash and photoshop with a tablet, trying to see how fast I could animate these, each to about 20~30 min...

I was using flash cs5. I started using the pen tool as a test to see how fast i could go only doing the rough bits of the animation, The fact that it was a tablet and the lack of a rotation function in flash made it a bit frustrating.

But it is so fast paced that I can't really get that mad at the software. Unlike photoshop. that can produce nice bits of color and interesting redering options but the actual process becomes very time consuming.

After effects animation is a bit of an odd duck, I can see how it can be very easy to create some interesting effects using the puppet tool in AE but I can't say that the process is very conducive to that.

The process of keying the poses is utterly complicated. however the sheer control that can be obtained balances it out... sort of.

One superhero and one teddy bear.

The mighty VICTORY KNIGHT!

And BB bear.

I guess in the end is more about the teddy bear.

On the nobetook today.

A series of random drawings from different things that I've been doing, I want to say I notice some sort of trend but I really don't, oh boy I wished I were more predictable sometimes...

Not even close to done

And as a small bonus I did a really fast short animation thingy, not the greatest but I like it.

Have a nice day!
